Not all foods can be eaten raw. For example,
vegetables need to be cooked and rice and lentils need to be boiled. However,
there are several foods that should be soaked in water. In fact, soaking them
in water increases the nutritional value of those foods. Again, many foods
contain anti-nutrients, which prevent the absorption of nutrients. Soaking them
in water washes out all those anti-nutrients.
But do you know which foods should be eaten
only after soaking them in water? Let's find out about it.
Pulses: Be
it lentils, moong, biuli, chickpeas or khesari dal - it is important to soak
any pulse in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This washes away
anti-nutrients like phytic acid and tannins present in the pulse. This helps
the nutrients in the pulse reach the body better.
Raisins: Soak
raisins in a cup of water the night before. Eating soaked raisins improves
liver function and eliminates digestive problems. It also flushes out toxins
accumulated in the body.
Almonds: Like
raisins, soak almonds in water and eat them. Even peel the soaked almonds.
Eating soaked almonds improves digestive health and increases skin radiance.
Chia seeds: Don't
eat chia seeds raw. Soak chia seeds in water or yogurt for 15 minutes. Then eat
them. Drink plenty of water while eating chia seeds. Otherwise, you will have
digestive problems and your body will become dehydrated.
Fenugreek seeds: You
can add fenugreek seeds along with five decoctions in cooking. But fenugreek
should always be soaked in water and eaten. Fenugreek soaked water is very
beneficial for health. It not only eliminates digestive problems, but also
reduces weight. Along with this, blood sugar levels are also controlled.
