What to do if you get a
rash
Many people have experienced red, itchy bumps
on their backs or other parts of their bodies during the summer. This is a
common form of itching.
How
it happens: Deep in our skin, there are many
sweat glands, which look like twisted pouches. When the sweat glands are
stimulated in hot weather, a lot of sweat is produced there and sweat comes out
of the gland pouch through a tube to the surface of the skin. But for some
reason, when these sweat-excreting ducts of the sweat glands are damaged, the
sweat fluid spreads inside the skin. This causes inflammation in the skin and
causes red bumps to appear. Children's skin is more prone to itching. This is
because children's sweat glands are often not fully developed.
What
to do:
1) Since hot weather is
responsible for such a situation, the affected person should be taken to cool
weather as soon as possible. If the rash is in an air-conditioned room, it
heals quickly. If that is not possible, the patient can also be sufficiently
comfortable with the air from a fan.
2) If you are wearing tight clothing, it
is essential to quickly avoid it and wear loose cotton clothes.
3) Applying calamine lotion to the
affected area provides immediate relief and helps reduce inflammation.
4) Even lightly massaging ice on the
affected area provides temporary relief.
5) Drink plenty of water so that the body
does not suffer from dehydration.
What
not to do:
1) Never rub the affected
area vigorously. Itching can also lead to bacterial infection. Therefore,
preventing itching as much as possible is one of the main ways to keep the rash
free of complications.
2) There is no need to apply any cream or
powder unnecessarily on the body, as this can clog the glands and make the
situation more complicated.
3) Hot weather should be avoided as much
as possible. Common scabies is not a serious disease. Usually, it is completely
cured within three to four days under favorable conditions. However, in some cases,
common scabies can become complicated and bacterial infection can occur,
causing a significant deterioration in the skin condition. In such cases, along
with the application of antibiotics to the face, the skin also needs various
care and treatment.
