বহু প্রতিক্ষার পর অবশেষে পৃথিবীতে ফিরলেন মহাকাশে আটকে থাকা দুই নভোচারী সুনিতা উইলিয়ামস (৫৯) ও বুচ উইলমোর (৬২)। মঙ্গলবার দিবাগত রাত ৩টা ৫৭ মিনিটে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ফ্লোরিডা উপকূল থেকে ৫০ মাইল দূরে সমুদ্রে অবতরণ করেছে তারা। যান্ত্রিক ত্রুটির কারণে গত বছরের জুন থেকে দীর্ঘ ৯ মাস মহাকাশে ছিলেন দুই নভোচারী। মহাকাশে এতটা সময় কিভাবে ছিলেন বা কি খেয়েই জীবিত ছিলেন তা নিয়ে রয়েছে নানা আগ্রহ।

 হিন্দুস্তান টাইমসের প্রতিবেদনে এ বিষয়ে উঠে এসেছে এ তথ্য। গত বছরের ১৮ নভেম্বর সুনিতাদের নিয়ে একটি প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশ করে মার্কিন সংবাদমাধ্যম নিউইয়র্ক পোস্ট। সেখানে বলা হয়, আইএসএসে আটকে থাকা নাসার নভোচারী বুচ আর সুনিতা পিৎজা, রোস্ট করা মুরগির মাংস আর চিংড়ির ককটেল খাচ্ছেন। সুনিতারা যেই মহাকাশযানে (বোয়িংয়ের স্টারলাইনার) চেপে আইএসএসের পাড়ি জমিয়েছিলেন, সেটার সঙ্গে সম্পৃক্ত একজন নিউইয়র্ক পোস্টের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন। তিনি জানান, সুনিতারা এতটুকুই তাজা খাবার খেতে পেতেন, যতটুকু খাদ্যতালিকায় পুষ্টিমান বজায় রাখার জন্য জরুরি। সংশ্লিষ্ট একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ জানান, সুনিতারা সকালের নাশতায় সিরিয়াল, গুঁড়া দুধ, পিৎজা, রোস্ট করা মুরগির মাংস, চিংড়ির ককটেল আর টুনা মাছ খাওয়ার সুযোগ পেতেন।

তারা দুজন কতটা ক্যালরি গ্রহণ করছেন, সেটা নাসার চিকিৎসকেরা পর্যবেক্ষণ করতেন। সুনিতা ও বুচের জন্য আইএসএসে তাজা ফল ও সবজি ছিল। কিন্তু তিন মাসের মধ্যে সেটা ফুরিয়ে যায়। গত বছরের নভেম্বরে ওই সূত্র জানান, শুরুতে তাজা ফল ছিল। তবে মাস তিনেকের মধ্যে তা শেষ হয়ে যায়। তাদের ফল আর শাকসবজি থাকে প্যাকেটজাত বা হিম করে শুকানো। আইএসএসে সুনিতা-বুচ ডিম আর মাংস খেতেন। তবে সেসব পৃথিবীতে রান্না করা সংরক্ষিত খাবার। স্টেশনে তারা শুধু সেগুলো গরম করে নিতেন।

এ ছাড়া স্যুপ, স্টু আর ক্যাসেরোলের মতো খাবার শুকনা অবস্থায় নিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। পরে সেখানে ৫৩০ গ্যালনের ট্যাংকে থাকা সুপেয় পানি দিয়ে সেসব খাবার গরম করা হতো। আইএসএসে নভোচারীদের প্রস্রাব ও ঘাম পুনর্ব্যবহার করে সুপেয় পানিতে পরিণত করা হয়। বিশেষজ্ঞরা স্পষ্ট করেই বলছেন, আইএসএসে পুষ্টিকর খাবারের অভাবে কারও ওজন কমেনি। তাদের মতে, সেখানে পর্যাপ্ত খাবার রয়েছে।

এমনকি সুনিতাদের মতো কোনো অভিযান যদি আকস্মিকভাবে বিলম্বিত হয়, তাহলেও খাবারের অভাব হবে না। বিলম্বিত অভিযানের ক্ষেত্রে বাড়তি সরবরাহের পরও আইএসএসে একেকজন নভোচারীর জন্য দৈনিক ৩ দশমিক ৮ পাউন্ড খাবার মজুত রয়েছে।

শখের বসে প্রাণীকে পোষ মানাতে দেখা যায় অনেকেই। আর প্রাণীদের মধ্যে কুকুর ও বিড়ালই বেশি পোষে থাকে মানুষ। আর সেই পোষা প্রাণী নিয়েই কাটে তার অবসর। তবে পোষা প্রাণী হলেও এর সঙ্গে জড়িয়ে আছে অর্থনীতির বিষয়টিও। অনেকেই এই পোষা প্রাণীকে বাণিজ্য হিসেবেও গ্রহণ করেন। এবার তেমনই এক পোষা কুকুর কিনে রেকর্ড গড়েছেন ভারতের পোষা প্রাণী প্রেমী এস সতীশ। ক্যাডাবমস ওকামি নামের এক কুকুরকে পেতে ৫০ কোটি টাকা খরচ করেছেন তিনি। যার ফলে কুকুরটি বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে দামি কুকুরে পরিণত হয়েছে। বিরল প্রজাতির ওকামি কুকুরটি একটি বন্য নেকড়ে এবং একটি ককেশীয় শেফার্ডের মধ্যে অনন্য মিশ্রণ। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে জন্ম নেওয়া এই বিরল নেকড়ে কুকুরটি ২০২৫ সালের ফেব্রুয়ারিতে ভারতে আসে। তখন এর বয়স ছিল মাত্র ৮ মাস। যার ওজন এখন ৭৫ কেজি ছাড়িয়েছে। এছাড়াও তার আকর্ষণীয় উপস্থিতি দেখলে বাস্তবে নেকড়ের মতোই মনে হবে। ভারতে আসার পর থেকেই ওকামি ব্যাপক জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করে। নিয়মিত ইভেন্ট এবং ফিল্ম শোতে উপস্থিত হতে দেখা গেছে কুকুরটিকে।

যেখানে ভক্তরা আগ্রহের সঙ্গে এই কুকুরের সঙ্গে ছবি তুলেছে। কুকুরটি কেনা সতীশ জানিয়েছেন, তিনি এই কুকুরটির ৩০ মিনিটের উপস্থিতির জন্য ২.৫ লক্ষ টাকা এবং দীর্ঘ শোয়ের জন্য ১০ লক্ষ টাকা পর্যন্ত আয় করেন। তার দাবি, মানুষ সিনেমার তারকাদের চেয়ে বেশি আগ্রহ নিয়ে তার কুকুরটিকে দেখে।’ এই কুকুরটি ছাড়াও দীর্ঘদিনের কুকুরপ্রেমী সতীশের কাছে ১৫০টিরও বেশি বিরল কুকুর রয়েছে, যাদের সবগুলোই বেঙ্গালুরুতে ৭ একরের একটি খামারে রাখা হয়। প্রতিটি কুকুরের নিজস্ব জায়গা রয়েছে এবং ছয়জন তত্ত্বাবধায়ক তাদের সুস্থতা নিশ্চিত করে থাকেন। এই বিরল পোষা প্রাণীদের রক্ষা করার জন্য খামারটিতে সিসিটিভি ক্যামেরা এবং উচ্চ-নিরাপত্তার দেয়াল রয়েছে। তবে তাদের সবার থেকে ব্যতিক্রম ওকামি। বিশেষ এই কুকুরটি বিশেষ খাদ্য পেয়ে থাকেন। প্রতিদিন ৩ কেজি কাঁচা মুরগি খেতে দেওয়া হয় কুকুরটিকে।

Scientists claim to destroy breast cancer genes with antibodies

No complicated surgery. No painful chemotherapy or radiotherapy. A type of antibody capable of destroying cancer cells. Researchers are trying to cure breast and cervical cancer with immunotherapy. 

Scientists at King's College London are researching a new type of antibody therapy. Researcher Heather Bax said that until now, attempts have been made to cure any disease with immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. But there is another type of antibody called immunoglobulin E (IgE) that can build an immune system against cancer cells. The researchers confirmed this by testing it on mice.

Scientists say that the most common type of breast cancer is ER/PR (estrogen and progesterone) positive and HER2 negative. Two genes, HER1 and HER2, are responsible for breast cancer. Of these, HER2 is the gene that increases the risk of cancer coming back even after it has been cured. Scientists have started researching how to overcome this gene. 

Research shows that if immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies can be introduced into a patient's body, they will directly attack the cancer gene. They will also activate the rest of the body's immune cells in such a way that the gene can no longer cause cancer.

 Breast cancer can be cured in many cases if caught early. Just as breast cancer can be cured if caught early, it can also come back five to seven years after it has been cured. In medical terms, this is called 'metastatic development'. 

Scientists say that cancer is usually unlikely to return for the first five years after treatment, but if the HER2 gene is active, there is a risk of the disease returning. In that case, scientists also claim that treatment with antibodies can eliminate the cancer cells from the beginning.

Another researcher at King's College London, Sophia Karagiannis, said that this particular antibody is being used not only in the treatment of breast cancer, but also in the treatment of various other types of cancer. Scientists have also seen that this antibody works very well in the human body. If all goes well, the scientists also said that this therapy will be applied to cancer patients around the world within the next 3 to 5 years.

প্রেমিকার মেসেজের রিপ্লাই দিলাম। 

হ্যাঁ জান টাকা পেয়েছি। কিন্তু হঠাৎ এতো টাকা কেন?

ওপাশ থেকেঃ তোমার  রুমমেটদের এই টাকা দিয়ে দিও। ওরা কিছু কিনে নিবে।আর দুপুরে তোমাকে নিয়ে বের হবো শপিং করার জন্য।তোমার জন্য যা যা লাগে আমি কিনে দিবো। 

আমিঃ ওদের দশ হাজার টাকা দিয়ে দিবো? মানে বুঝলাম না।

ওপাশ থেকেঃ হ্যাঁ, ওদের দেখিয়ে দেও তোমার প্রেমিকার মন কেমন।  

আমিঃ ঠিক আছে দিয়ে দিলাম।( যদিও দেইনাই। দিমুও না) 

ওপাশ থেকেঃ ঠিক দুপুরে রেডি থাকবা কিন্তু।

আমিঃ ঠিক আছে।

আমার এই প্রেমের বয়স মাত্র ২৬ দিন। কিছুদিন আগেই নাদিয়া নামের এই মেয়ের সাথে আমার পরিচয় হয় টিএসসিতে। একা বসে আছি দেখি একটা প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক মেয়ে ফুল বিক্রি করতে করতে আমার দিকে এগিয়ে  আসছে। এসে বললো ” ভাইয়া এখান থেকে আপনাকে একটা ফুল কিনতে হবে”। আমি অবাক হয়ে বললাম “কেন?”। নাদিয়া উত্তর দিলো ” আসলে ফুল গুলো ওর না, একটা পিচ্চি মেয়ের। মেয়েটার খুব অসুস্থ ছিল সেদিন। তাই ওকে বাড়ি পাঠিয়ে দিয়ে নাদিয়াই ওর ফুল বিক্রি করছে। এসব শুনে ওর সবগুলো ফুল কিনে নিয়েছিলাম ( টিউশনির টাকা পাওয়াতে পকেট গরম ছিল)। তারপর সেখান থেকেই নাদিয়ার সাথে আমার পরিচয়।

নাদিয়া আর আমি মার্কেটে ঘুরছি আর শপিং করছি। ও আমাকে ৫ টা প্যান্ট, ২ টা শার্ট ২ পাঞ্জাবি আর ৫ টা টিশার্ট কিনে দিয়েছে। আমি ওকে একটা জামা কিনে দিতে গিয়েছিলাম।ও একদম রাজি হয়নি। বলেছে আমি চাকরি পেলে তখন আমার কাছে থেকে ইচ্ছেমতো মার্কেট করে নিবে।মনে মনে ভাবছি আল্লাহ আমার কপালে কি প্রেমিকা দিয়েছে এটা। এতো ভালো কপাল কোনো ছেলের হয়!

নাদিয়াই বললো, চলো আজ দুজন একসাথে ইফতার করি? মেসের পঁচা ইফতার খাইতে খাইতে পেটের খারাপ অবস্থা। তার উপর প্রেমিকার এই চমৎকার অফার শুনে মনটা একদম আনন্দে নেচে উঠলো। 

পুরান ঢাকা এসেছি নাদিয়ার সাথে ইফতার করতে।  কাবাব, কাচ্চি, বিরিয়ানি কি ছিল না সেই ইফতারে। ইফতার করে নাদিয়া বললো ” চলো তোমাকে মেসে পৌঁছে দেই”। সিএনজি তে উঠে নাদিয়ার কাঁধে মাথা দিয়ে গল্প  করছি। কখন যে ঘুম এসেছে মনে নেই। 

ঘুম ভেঙ্গে দেখি হাসপাতালে শুয়ে আছি। সামনে একজন ডাক্তার দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। উনি আমার চোখ খুলতে দেখে বললেন ” খুব বেঁচে গিয়েছেন এবার। একটা কিডনি নিয়েছে খালি”। অপেক্ষা করুন এক্ষুনি পুলিশ আসবে। 

ডাক্তারের কথা শুনে বা পাশের কোমরে হাত দিয়ে দেখি পিছন দিকে ব্যান্ডেজ করা। বাংলা ছবির মতো মনে হলো স্মৃতিশক্তি নষ্ট হয়ে গেলো নাকি ডাক্তার কি বলে এসব! 

একটুপর পুলিশ এগিয়ে এসে বললো “আপনি রুদ্র আহমেদ?”

মাথা উপর-নিচে করে “হ্যাঁ” জানলাম। উনি বললেন আপনার সাথে কি ঘটেছিল সব বিস্তারিত ভাবে বলুন তো শুনি। পুলিশ কে সব ঘটনা খুলে বললাম। উনি শুনার পর বললেন ” হায়রে বলদা বেডা আজকালকার দিনে ২৬ দিন প্রেম করে এতো টাকা কোনো মেয়ে খরচ করে বলদ কোথাকার! ঢাকা শহরে ইদানীং একটা চক্র নেমেছে। এদের কাজ হচ্ছে স্বাস্থ্যবান মানুষদের সাথে সম্পর্ক গড়ে তোলা তারপর সুযোগ বুঝে কিডনি চুরি করা। গত তিন মাসে এমন ৮ টা কেস ঘটেছে। আপনি নয় নাম্বার। সবার একটা করে কিডনি নিয়ে রাস্তায় ফেলে রেখে যায়। আপনাকে রাতে রাস্তায় পাওয়া গিয়েছে। সেখান থেকে টহলদার পুলিশ তুলে এনে এখানে ভর্তি করে।

ডাক্তার কে ডাক দিয়ে বললাম ” ডাক্তার আমার আরেকটা কিডনি বের করে নেন। এই জীবন রাখমু না”।
