Almonds or chickpeas?

Chickpeas and almonds are both popular as snacks. Both foods are beneficial for health. There is no shortage of controversy surrounding these two foods. Some people like to eat chickpeas, while others prefer almonds. But although the taste of these two foods is discussed, the quality is not discussed.

Meenakshi Majumdar, chief nutritionist at the Institute of Neuroscience in Kolkata, India, has said that eating chickpeas or almonds will provide more benefits.

Nutrient storehouse of chickpeas: Chickpeas contain beneficial vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium. It is also a storehouse of protein. In this context, Meenakshi Majumdar said that chickpeas are beneficial for everything from creating new cells to building muscles and reducing inflammation. For this reason, you can eat chickpeas regularly.

Nutritious nuts: Nuts contain several essential nutrients including vitamin B, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium. In addition, eating nuts also provides a small amount of omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients can help protect brain health and prevent various heart diseases. Therefore, you can eat nuts whenever you get the chance.

Almonds or chickpeas, which is more beneficial: In this regard, Meenakshi Majumdar said that both almonds and chickpeas are very beneficial. Therefore, neither of these two can be put ahead or behind. Rather, if you can keep these two foods in your daily diet, it will be possible to keep your body healthy. However, if you have gas, acidity or any other stomach problem, it is better not to eat almonds in large quantities. Because almonds are a little difficult to digest. In that case, you can eat chickpeas without any worries. This will benefit you.

Eat peeled chickpeas and almonds: Many people eat the shelled nuts or chickpeas while eating them. This is not right. Studies have shown that the shell of these two natural ingredients contains sufficient amounts of vitamins and minerals. Therefore, if you eat peeled nuts and chickpeas, you will be deprived of the benefits of several nutrients.

Should you eat chickpeas and almonds together?: Meenakshi Majumdar said that eating chickpeas and almonds together will give you more benefits. In this case, she recommends mixing 10 to 12 almonds in a bowl of chickpeas. However, according to her, one should not eat more than 10 to 12 almonds per day. This can cause gas, acidity and weight gain.
