Chickpeas and almonds are both popular snacks. Both foods are beneficial for health. There is no less controversy surrounding these two foods. Some like to eat chickpeas, some like almonds. But although the taste of these two foods is studied, the quality is not discussed.

Meenakshi Majumder, chief nutritionist at the Institute of Neuroscience in Calcutta, India, said which one would be more beneficial if you eat chickpeas or almonds.

Nutrient rich chickpeas: Chickpeas contain beneficial vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, vitamin B6, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium. It is also a storehouse of protein.   In this context, Meenakshi Majumder said that chickpeas are useful in alleviating inflammation, from creating new cells to building muscles. For this reason, you can eat chickpeas regularly.

Nutritious Nuts: Nuts contain several essential elements including vitamin B, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium. Apart from this, almonds also contain a small amount of omega-3 fatty acids. This ingredient can prevent various heart diseases starting from brain health. For this reason, you can eat almonds whenever you get a chance.

Almonds or chickpeas, which is more beneficial: In this regard, Meenakshi Majumdar said that both almonds and chickpeas are very beneficial. So no one can be kept ahead or behind between these two. Rather, if you keep these two foods in your daily diet, it will be possible to keep your body healthy. However, if you have gas, acidity or any other stomach problems, almonds should not be eaten in excess. Because almonds are a bit difficult to digest. In that case, you can eat chickpeas safely. This will be beneficial.

Eat unshelled chickpeas-nuts: Many eat nuts or chickpeas without the skin while eating fried chickpeas. It's not right. Studies have shown that the peels of these two natural ingredients contain adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals. So eating unshelled nuts and chickpeas will deprive you of many nutritional benefits.

Should you eat chickpeas and almonds together: Eating chickpeas and almonds together will get more benefits, said Meenakshi Majumder. In this case, he suggested mixing 10 to 12 nuts in a bowl of chickpeas.   However, according to him, one should not eat more than 10 to 12 nuts per day. There is risk of weight gain along with gas, acidity.
